Drug Data Processing System Edit 710

CMS is providing notification to Part D sponsors that effective May 1, 2019, we will be activating edit 710 – “The Medicare beneficiary identifier has changed according to CMS records; use the Corrected Medicare beneficiary identifier for future submissions”.

CMS described the suspension of this edit in the February 6, 2018 HPMS memo, “Updates to the Drug Data Processing System (DDPS) and Payment Reconciliation System (PRS) to the New Medicare Card Project Implementation”. After close monitoring of MBI submission rates, we feel it is appropriate to activate this edit at this time. Thank you.
